Sons Galiza Communication

Sons Galicia was founded in 1988 as a cultural project for communication, editing and dissemination of Galician culture. Of their factory went many of the artists of the Galician current music and others that are part of the history of our music. Its catalog has over three hundred productions. In these twenty-three years of his career by recording studios spent most of Galician musicians. Gradually the company was increasing its activity and currently the company is structured as follows:

  • Music sounds Galicia, with collections, Atlantia, Galicia Sounds Records, The Piper Soutelo, Cerne, Mobile Records, Classic Gallegos, SonsRock …
  • Sons Management, procurement and distribution of groups of Folk, Rock, Jazz, programming and organizing concerts, organization of cultural events, such as conferences, meetings, etc.
  • The export of our culture internationally attended trade fairs like Midem in Cannes or the Womex make our culture is present in countries like France, Germany, England, Japan etc.

Communication projects of great importance such as editing the collection Son of Galicia for the newspaper La Voz de Galicia of which have been published more than 1,300,000 CD’s prove the dynamism of this company. Other collections also for the newspaper La Voz de Galicia are The Sound and the Earth that were published 300,000 book / cds and a collection Rondallas Ferrolterra which is released 100,000 CDs.

At the end of 90 summons the contest Galicia SonsFolk for new interpreters Galician music, which was held for the first time in the year 1998 on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the founding of the company, the winner of this contest sign a contract with Sons Galiza for editing a CD and the possibility of two others. Also coinciding with the fifteenth anniversary of the company along summoned case Universities of Santiago and Vigo CampuSons the contest for rock groups and the like.

He is currently involved in the project Galicia 3000 which will result in 300 edition book-CD, consisting of the recording of 3000 pieces of the traditional Galician music already recorded more than 200 songs. No doubt this project is one of the most ambitious of the Galician culture that will shape the next 10-15 years the encyclopedia of audio country’s most important.
